I probably shouldn't share this, because it only makes me look really stupid, but...
have you ever accepted something for what it's commonly believed to be, and then found out that the facts don't add up?
All my life, i've came to accept that there are 4 weeks in each month and 12 months in 1 year. I never wondered otherwise.
Furthermore, there are 52 weeks in a year and 365 days [ignore leap years]
So one day i though all this numbers together, and OH SNAP- they don't add up!?!?!
cuz if there are only 4 weeks in each months, that makes a total of 48 weeks in 1 year! Wait wtf, 52-48=4! An extra 4 weeks? There must be 13 months in one year!?! I seriously freaked out, but Andrew told me to forget about it... and that i was not counting right
So i went and thought of it this way: 52/12 =4.333333 that means each month roughly has 4 and 1/3 weeks. This made perfect sense, but i was still in shock, so i googled my question: and everywhere it said that one month has 4 to 5 weeks.
Anyways, besides my lack of common sense, i can't believe that all my life i accepted something as truth just because somebody claimed it was. And i can't believe that i never thought of this before. It makes me wonder what else is encoded into peoples minds as truth, with no intentions for questioning. Or am i just retarded?
