I Guess Its Part 1?

Chris had been planning this night for quite awhile and he was starting to get a little bit nervous. He walked into the bathroom and turned the cold water faucet on. His hands shook a little bit as he splashed the cold water over his face. He raised his eyes to the mirror. "Tonight is the night" he told himself again for the millionth time that night. He shut the water off and went back to the kitchen. He occupied his time by straightening the silverware on the table and rearranging the candles he had laid out all over the apartment. It was starting to get late and she would be home any time now. He pulled a velvet ring box out of his pocket and opened it. It had taken him forever to save up for this ring, the ring he knew she deserved. "Baby, I've loved you since the day I met you." He shook his head hoping that he wouldnt mess up the words when it really mattered.

Suddenly he heard the key in the lock of the front door and he froze. He shoved the box back in his pocket and walked to the table. She walked in slowly, dropping her bag by the door. Chris lit the last candle in the room and hit the lightswitch illuminating the room with candlelight. "Surprise baby" he said smiling. She looked at him, half smiling, somewhat surprised. "Chris...what is this?" "Dinner is made for you. I even made dessert and I rented a movie for us." He knew in the back of his mind that that movie bit was a lie, but he couldnt let her know what the evening had in store.

He walked over to her and slid his hands onto her hips, pressing his lips against hers. He took her by the hand and led her to the table, pulling out a chair for her. "Whats the occasion," she said as she started to eat. "No occasion," he said, "just wanted to do something nice for you." As the two of them ate dinner Chris' mind was still running wild. "What if she says no," he thought. He shook his head. This caught her eye. "Whats wrong," she asked, looking across the table at him. He smiled. "Nothings wrong," he laughed to himself and as he looked back at her with the light from the candles dancing over her face, he knew nothing would ever be wrong again.

"That was really good baby," she said as they finished up in the kitchen. "Whats for dessert?" "Oh, its in the bedroom," he said. "I figured I'd leave it in there since we're gonna go and watch a movie anyway." As she walked down the hallway he held his breath. He had candles all over that room, flowers on the bed, and the dessert just happened to be a huge fortune cookie with a special fortune in it, a fortune that would be his only help tonight. He stood halfway down the hallway as she opened the door. A few seconds went by and he didnt hear anything. His stomach sank until she peeked back around the corner. Sher smiled at him. "Are you coming?" He smiled and walked into the room with her and he was met with a kiss. "This is great baby," she said, her smile lighting up the room. Chris walked over to the bed and picked up the bouquet of flowers, handing them to her. "For me," she said jokingly.

"Come here," Chris said softly, holding his hand out for her. She took it and sat beside him. He picked up the box with the fortune cookie in it and placed it on her lap. "Open it," he said nervously. As she opened the box and pulled out the cookie, she looked at him slightly confused. "See what your fortune is baby," he said. She cracked the cookie in half and pulled out the slip of paper. "Close your eyes," she said aloud. She looked at him. "Do what it says," he smiled. He watched as her eyes closed and he slowly slid himself off the bed and reached back into his pocket for that velvet box for the last time. He positioned himself on one knee. "Open your eyes baby."

He her eyes snapped open, and the second her eyes focused her mouth fell open in disbelief. "Baby, w-what are you d-doing?" He smiled and took her by the hand

"Baby, Ive been wanting to say this to you for the longest time. I love you so much. I always have. Theres no one in this world that means more to me than you do. Youre the most beautiful, intelligent and amazing woman Ive ever met. You make my life better than I could have ever hoped it would be. I want to spend the rest of my life making you happy. Baby, will you marry me?"

A few seconds passed and he could swear he saw her eyes starting to tear up. She reached down and ran her hand over the side of his face. She smiled and a tear fell down her cheek. She started to nod her head. "Yes..yes," she said as she started to cry more openly. He got off his knee and kissed her. Then he took the ring out of the box and slid it onto her finger. It fit perfectly just as he knew it would. He smiled and started to cry himself. He put his hands on her cheeks and kissed her again. "I love you so much." "I love you too," came the reply. He sat down on the bed with his back against the wall and patted the bed in between his legs. "Come here baby." She crawled over to him slowly and layed her back against him. His arms wrapped her up tightly, his chin resting on her shoulder, his lips right next to her ear. "You have me forever baby, I'm never going anywhere. I'm always going to be here baby, from now until the end of time." He felt her back shake, and he knew she was still crying. He tightened his arms around her and pulled her to the side a bit so he could look at her. He was right. She was still crying. He ran his thumb over her cheek and brushed the tears away and pressed his forehead to hers. Their bodies straightened out, laying down facing each other, their bodies entangled together, holding each other as close as possible.
