Toshiya opened his eyes and closed them again immediately. He groaned, and draped his forearm over his face. However satisfying it was to go out and get thoroughly smashed with Die, he would never get used to the resulting hangover. If there was such a thing as a “hangover person,” Toshiya wasn’t one. Presently, as consciousness began to overtake his splitting headache, he became aware that the couch he was laying on was not his own, and cracked an eye to examine it. Nope. Definitely not his. He stared at a frayed edge of fabric, trying to remember what had happened last night.

Oh. Right.

Ignoring the stab of pain in his head, he sat up slowly and looked around. Kyo was probably still in his room - or asleep at the kitchen island, okay. Toshiya cracked his neck and an amused half-smile tugged at his lips. He would have to make this up to Kyo, somehow. He blinked again, and rubbed at his eyes, still trying to wake up. Clumsily, Toshiya swung his legs over the edge of the couch and slowly stood up on his good leg. He eyed the fridge briefly, but his gaze flicked back to Kyo and instead he pulled his phone out and called Die.

Kyo was later woken very rudely by his phone, which, even after he had very pointedly ignored it, adamantly refused to stop buzzing. He scowled and pulled it out of his pocket, only to have the scowl drop right off his face when he was exactly who it was interrupting his much needed sleep.

Kyo blinked at the screen and looked over the message again. He suddenly became acutely aware of his own heartbeat and snapped the phone shut, getting up to start his coffee and make some cereal. Then, staring blankly at his makeshift breakfast, he opened his cell phone and composed a reply.

He got a reply almost immediately.

Kyo frowned. Toshiya was a surprisingly eager email correspondent. One would think he’d be more careful in giving out his address - but then again, it wasn’t as if the Cirque was on the level of, say, one of those stupid idol groups. He hit the reply button.

To: Toshiya

you were fine. Just pass out on the couch instead of the toilet next ti

Kyo hastily deleted the whole second sentence.

you were fine. Just passed out on the couch and slept like a log. I couldn’t have asked for better behavior from someone so wasted.

Send.
This time the reply was longer in coming, and Kyo was tending to his coffee when his phone went off. He took his time sitting down.

heeeeey. :( maybe I won’t crash at your place anymore if you’re gonna be mean about it.

Anymore? Kyo stared at the email a little longer, fingers hovering over his phone.

I wasn’t trying to be mean, sorry. I wouldn’t mind having you over again.

His finger moved to hit the cancel button, but paused. He pressed send again.

good. ;)

After a good five minutes of trying to figure out what on earth Toshiya had meant by that, Kyo decided to hell with it and put his phone away. Toshiya would tell him if it was important.

Now he just needed something to do until work. A nap, maybe. A nap would be good. He set the alarm clock on his phone, lay down on the couch, and tried very hard not to think about the person who’d been lying here not two hours before.

He was mostly unsuccessful.
