Hello all! I hope everyone who celebrates enjoyed their Thanksgiving. It was a pretty laid back day in our household. It was just Jason and I for the holiday. We visited my family for Thanksgiving last year, and his family for Christmas, so this year we're going to my parents' house for Christmas. I had suggested South Carolina (where his ( Read more... )

That sounds like a really nice Thanksgiving. And don't feel too bad about the turkey. It's so easy to dry out the white meat!

Well, your icon is just making me really happy.

And your Thanksgiving sounds so lovely! I'm glad you made dinner for your first married Thanksgiving. (Also: you're right, turkey is not that great. I don't know why chicken tastes so much better.)

Happy Advent!

Aww, I love your little Thanksgiving dinner for two! Sounds lovely.

I always appreciate when Cory does dishes (or laundry, or anything else domestic), because like you, I don't think I've ever seen my dad help with anything like that. Like Jason, Cory was a bachelor for quite a while -- he moved in with his grandpa when he was 13 and basically took care of his own stuff starting then. But I still always appreciate it and try not to take it for granted or expect it.

I saw a trailer a while back for The Man in the High Castle and thought it looked awesome, but I'm stubborn and don't want to have to pay for it. I really want to see it, but I don't have Amazon Prime. I hate that there are so many good shows on services I don't have -- Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, whatever -- when I'm already paying a ridiculous amount each month for cable. Ugh.

Co-sign your turkey feelings. I like maybe 2-3 slices of turkey once a year on Thanksgiving. Covered in cranberry sauce. Otherwise, yeah, it's just not that great.

Fun to hear about your first married Thanksgiving. It's nice not having to travel, right? I am lucky that my parents' live like 30 minutes away and I usually just go there. So much better than the holiday travel madness.

Also, in general, it's fun to hear about your married life updates. Look at you, a grown adult with a house and a husband!
