a weekend spent with my tv

Aug 08, 2010 21:19

My weekend has consisted of:

- Four episodes of Scarecrow and Mrs. King with the roommate on Friday night. And only four episodes left until we're all done. Sadface.

- Saturday was working out, cleaning, chatting with my mom, then hanging out with enigmaticblues. We chatted for a bit, watched a few episodes of Babylon 5, fangirled Bruce Boxleitner (the man ( Read more... )

I followed you back! Le gasp! I still can't make myself watch Scarecrow and Mrs. King. I love Bruce Boxleitner but I don't know if I love him that much.

HA! I can't exactly blame you. Will you think less of me if I tell you I only watched Babylon 5 the first time because I had watched Scarecrow and Mrs. King first and I loved me some Bruce and wanted to watch every single thing that he was in?

I know it's a cheesetastic 80's show, but I adore it, so I rewatch it every few years. But when compared to the awesomeness of Babylon 5, well, there's no question which is better.

I don't mind cheese or 80s. I mind...Kate Jackson. I'm working myself up to it! He's just too cute to resist, seriously.

Ah yes, Kate Jackson. You know, I go through phases with her. Sometimes I really like her character, and think she was a pretty kick-ass woman on television in the early 80's. And then other times, her character drives me bonkers and I don't comprehend what Bruce Boxleitner's character would see in her at all. And a good portion of that has to do with Kate Jackson's acting.

But then there is Bruce, being pretty consistently great, and all else is forgiven. Plus, my roommate and I had a really good time making fun of their clothes. :)

Resistance is futile.

(I think I am making a Star Trek joke. Am I? Anyway - give in. Watch. Enjoy the eye candy and ignore the rest.)

I'm getting there! I have way too much TV to watch, LOL. I'm trying to finish at least a couple of the seven or eight shows I'm still sitting on before I start a new one.

(You should watch Star Trek.)

(No! You should watch Battlestar Galactica first.)

I sometimes watch TNG with the hubby. He is trying very, VERY hard to break me of my "What comes after Season 5 of Babylon 5? Season 2 of Babylon 5" vicious cycle. This weekend he gave a very compelling argument for why I should watch Firefly. So I think this will be next.

FIREFLYYYYYY. Starring my husbands, Nathan Fillion and Adam Baldwin. And my girlfriend Summer Glau.

You have reminded me to start my tri-annual rewatch of Firefly. I haven't watched it since April!

Hi xphilehb having random convos in your LJ what's up.

I'm going to have to second the Firefly vote here. And it's easy to watch, considering it's only, like, half a season. Thanks to no one but apparently me and a few others watching it until it was no longer on television.

Excuse me, I think ten whole people watched Firefly. I mean, seriously.

(I actually didn't watch Firefly until the summer before Serenity came out, because when it was actually airing? I never even knew it existed. And I was a Joss fan and was actively watching shows on Fox! Which just goes to show how much their advertising department blows.)

I never even knew it existed.

Really? This makes wonder how I knew it was airing. I really have no recollection, other than I'd been watching Buffy and Angel and thus figured I'd follow Joss anywhere. (Except that I never followed him to Dollhouse.) I think I still carry bitterness because every Friday night I watched John Doe and then Firefly on FOX, and Firefly was canceled after half a season and then John Doe after one season with this horrible cliffhanger that I still wonder about from time to time.

Anyway, you're right. I'm sorry. Me and those other nine people just couldn't make it last. :)

The first I heard about Firefly was reading about it being canceled. Yeah... I seriously never saw a single commercial for it on TV. IDEK.

This is why I keep telling myself to stop watching shows on FOX, and I never listen. Terminator? Watched it; heart broken. Dollhouse? Watched it; heart broken. Don't even get me started on Arrested Development.

It was actually kind of exciting when ABC canceled Pushing Daisies. I was like, someone does this other than FOX?!

(You should watch Dollhouse. The first three or four episodes are a little shaky, but then it just gets amazing. I am still holding on to the last five episodes or so - I still have new Dollhouse to watch! It's not over yet!)

I am pretty sure the reason I did not watch Dollhouse was because it was once again Joss on FOX, and I wanted to make sure it wouldn't be canceled before I became attached. And then it did get canceled, and I just never got around to it.

Oh, Arrested Development. Funniest thing ever on television. It's about time I rewatch that too.

And Pushing Daisies. Season 2 is still sitting on my TiVo unwatched. I really need to decide to watch it, or just delete it.
