Its amazing how one smile can change your life...
Today was so much fun. I cant even begin to tell you.
We got to go to Gateway all day today except for 4th period which meant from like maybe 9:00 am till about 1:20 pm or so we helped out at Gateway.
Today was the arts festival. And special needs kids from all over Guilford county came to join in with the gateway kids. And there were also TONS of volunteers there also. Some of them I didnt like. gr.
When I got into my room Gloria and Wanda and this lady named Vicki who helps them out with swimming was in there and was eating breakfast. They even got me a chicken biscuit and it was the bomb. The these two girls came in that go to Southern their names where Laura and Eliane. I just talk to Laura mostly. Then these 3 old people came in and Gloria had the kids pick out who they wanted to be with. Well before she gets that out of her mouth good De Onte came rolling over to me saying Caitlin. I was like AWE! So everyone gets paired up with a kid and we go around doing diffrent art projects.
First we go to sand art. Why they had sand art outside when it was like 40 degrees and high winds Ill never know. But De Onte made a wonderful picture lol. Even if he was trying to eat the glue. Then we went to watch this lady and her husband play instruments. Those kids were just so happy. And I relized that alot of people take what the have in life for granted and are still unhappy about it. Those kids have physical, mental, hearing, seeing disabilities and their the happiest kids in the world. I almost cried. Yes I know im a tenderhearted persn, but if you could have just saw how happy they were I think you would get a tear too. I had to stop myself before I really cried.
After that we went to story telling and then to see some man play the guitar and sing. It was so sweet those kids were getting up beside him and dancing. It was just adorable. After that I had to go down to the lunch room and get all the lunches and stuff for the kids. All the kids but TC eat normal food but his has to be puree'd. But I fed him and Jenna came by and got me and told me if they didnt need me could I come eat lunch so they told me I could.
Well I ate my sub it was the bomb, and this lady who taught at my old private school works there now. Me and her talked about things for a long time. She couldnt belive it was me, because of how much I had changed since then, it made me feel really good. So after that I went back to my room and I was telling my kids bye and I asked De Onte for a hug and a kiss and I got it. And as I was walking ou the door hes like I LOVE YOU, so I told him I loved him back. He is so sweet. Wild, but sweet.
Wow I did not want to leave but we had too :(
But tommorow is PROM!!!! I DONT BELIEVE IT!!! Im really excited now. I hope everything goes according to plan. I thin k me and Jenna are even going to walmart in our prom dresses. It would be way cool if we did. Haha ill tell her ill make out with her if we can go to walamrt after the after party. She cant say no to that. But ill be sure to take TONS of pictures...
Well im off for tonight yall I gotta get my ugly sleep lol, cause I aint getting no pretty.
