I booked myself a flight today to fly out to Philadelphia tomorrow (one of the great benefits of working for an airline!). There is a tattoo convention there that starts tomorrow and goes throughout the weekend. My friend Denis Pase who use to work at Altered State in Lake Worth, Florida and now works at Black Orchid in Savannah, Georgia is going to be there so I’m looking forward to seeing him. He did the work the half sleeve on my right arm and did the work on my Ribs. It will also be nice being able to hang out with Dave Steele who will also be at the convention. Dave has done a lot of work on me including my chest and all the work on my left leg, which is close to be becoming a complete sleeve.

Speaking of tattoos, I need to get my half sleeve on my left arm colored in. Gentle Josh started it before he went on his honeymoon. I’m really pleased with the outline and I think that it will look fantastic once colored.

My friend Jake is apprenticing at Ink Assassins and He tattooed my leg above the kneecap a few weeks ago. I think he is going to be a great tattoo artist in due time. He tattooed an old fashion record player in grayscale. That tattoo made 21 for me. I have as many tattoos as I am old.

I was thinking about throwing caution to the wind and going for full sleeves sooner than expected. What I really want is my neck tattooed though. I think I will wait until after my grandparents pass out of respect to them. A lot of people think that you piss away any chances of a decent career when you get your neck tattooed. But for me, I think you piss away any chances of a crumby career. I know that if I were to get my neck tattooed it would seriously limit my options. However, in doing so it would make me strive to accomplish the goals I have set forth for myself - being a private entrepreneur.

While in Philly I’m hoping to check out some vegan restaurants. I’m growing a little tired of eating at the same places in Erie that offer vegan alternatives (Lettuce Entice You, Papa Joes, and the Co-Op). I’ve Googled some interesting places in the Philadelphia area. If anyone has any suggestions I am open.

I really have no idea what else I will be doing while in Philly. I do know that Murphy’s Law is playing Friday at the convention, so that should be enjoyable. I’m going to stay with Mike Nevinsky, which will be fun. I think my old roommate from Florida, Chris, is going to come over from New Jersey on Saturday. This may sound corny but I want to see that “LOVE” statue in Philadelphia.

My spring break is March 12th until the 16th. That is a Monday and a Friday so in all actuality it is March 10th until the 18th. I am planning a trip with a friend or two to Fairbanks, Alaska to witness the aurora borealis, which I am very excited about. Once again, one of the huge perks of working for an airline. When I an organization located in Alaska they informed me the best time to visit the phenomenon was between the months of February and March.

I would like to pick up a second part time job to provide me with some additional spending money. I’m currently only working 10 hours a week at the airport. I need to find something I can be passionate about though. I was looking at Ameri Corps but the only opportunities in the Erie are fulltime. We’ll see what I come up with.
