Win/Win

I’ve decided to begin actively writing on here again. Not to keep documentation of my daily life, although that may occur from time to time, but to document my thoughts. By doing so, perhaps I may be able to be engaged by someone in conversation that will lead to a more defined thought pattern.

In my Management class today we began speaking about globalization. When globalization is brought up it is almost inevitable that the topic of outsourcing our industrial labor is also brought up. It sickens me how most people view life in a competitive manner. Why must it be that things are viewed in win/loss scenarios? Is a win/win scenario to hard to fathom? This dualistic nature is going to be the downfall of civilization. We must soon realize as a race that the space that exists between ourselves and others, ourselves and animals, and ourselves and inanimate objects is just a figment of our imagination. We are all connected as one. Your loss is my loss. My loss is your loss. Your gain is my gain. And my gain is your gain.

We also spoke about how the percentage of white non-Hispanic males in the workforce is dwindling on a yearly basis. Once again, when this topic is brought up people view it as a win/loss scenario, when that is not the case. It is being viewed that African Americans, Hispanics, Asians, are taking jobs from Caucasians. But I do not feel that is the case. I think that not only the percentage of white non-Hispanic males in the workforce is dwindling, but the percentage of white non-Hispanic males in the United States is dwindling. Why? Because of mixed race relationships. More individuals are dating outside their race, which I find to be a good thing, and that is creating a new bread of races. Inevitably, overtime I think that we will realize that the new minority will become individuals of single races.

Since I have not written any of my thoughts down in quite some time I’m sure I could make this first entry back out to be painfully long. But I won’t. I’ll save my other thoughts for another date. But wrap your heads around that if you will.
