I have joined the 21st century and acquired Netflix. Supernatural has given me ideas and I can only assume that our house was possessed by angry spirits this morning when the power went out, then the fire alarm went off, and the stove burners all turned on to high, and the internet died. I had to deploy my twitter account for the first time to fix the internet. It beat waiting on hold. I'm also watching Downton Abbey because Supernatural is too scary to watch at night, and it's kind of awesome so far. It went kinda boring, kinda boring, kinda boring ... suddenly intriguing.
I braved the snow today and took the train downtown to shop. I got my mom a world map that was mounted on foam core and framed and some map pins so she can pin all the places she's been. And that was the end of my Christmas shopping because everyone else gets souvenirs from Iceland. The only other thing I needed was a single Christmas card, but I passed Winners on my way to the card store and came out with a new pair of winter boots. *sigh* On the bright side, they're very warm and stylish, and go all the way up to my knees. And the cat has made a habit of murdering my old winter boots whenever he gets the chance, so they're not as warm as they used to be.
The map store was just a block from the train station, so it seemed like a brilliant plan until I was carrying the thing and couldn't see over it. I got my mom to pick me up at the station near our house, and had to be all, "Happy Christmas, by the way. Here's your present."
Tomorrow I will go see a movie about Thranduil's eyebrows, as played by Lee Pace's eyebrows. I expect great things from them.
