ok i went to the dentist yesterday and i have to have surgery on the upper left side of my mouth to have my wisdom teeth removed.

anyone recommend a good oral surgeon for someone who is deathly afraid of having her wisdom teeth removed?? i want to be knocked out.

oh shit i forgot about kellys dad.

i just want someone who can be extra nice to me since im a big weenie. i hafta have some big stuff done and im scared to death.

i have an appt for the 11th but i think i'll call him later and find out if they can get me in earlier. i dunno.

I didn't get knocked out, and I had a Navy dentist pull mine! But I felt wonderful - they gave me a little Halcion tablet, and it did the trick and then some. Just go to a dentist who will prescribe halcion for you - it's just an anti-anxiety drug, but it's fabulous. If you ask for nitrous oxide, insurance generally doesn't cover it, and it costs a ton of money. You don't need to be knocked out - it's really not that bad. The worst part of it is the noise, when there are putting that clamp around each tooth, and then they twist, and you can feel some pressure and the sound of the tooth ripping out. Put on some headphones and kick back, and make sure they give you some Tylenol 3 for after the surgery...

By the way, it's more commonly prescribed for insomniacs, but dentists use it to calm patients down, too. I didn't fall asleep during the procedure, but I was definitely mellow.
