What a Week!

This week was absolutely brutal. Monday I took my history content exam, one of my steps toward becoming a certified teacher. After studying for two months (yep, that's why it has been so quiet around here), I felt ready enough to take the exam. I went into the test with confidence and left in tears, convinced I had failed. I was determined not to cry but of course broke down into tears the moment Barrett asked me how things went. Barrett was absolutely great about my break down. He gathered me in his arms, wiped away the tears and then took me out to Pei Wei. He understood that I did not want to talk about the test and did his best to cheer me up.

Tuesday I received my score by email, and I passed! I literally began jumping up and down, screaming. Barrett was so overjoyed, he once again took me out to eat at one of our favorite local restaurants, Ship Wreck. Over fried crawfish and fries, we celebrated that I would not have to take my test again (it cost $120... I did not want to pay that again!).

Wednesday I took the day off, enjoying spending time at home relaxing. I slept in, threw away all of the study cards I made while studying (there have to be at least 300), and caught up on some tv shows through Hulu. I have found myself super interested in Pan Am, Revenge, and Body of Proof. I'm also keeping an eye out for when Once Upon a Time starts up. It looks like it will be cute. Of course, I'm still keeping up with my favorites, Castle and Fringe!

Thursday I substituted for an English high school class, and Friday I filled in for a dyslexia teacher. Both days I came home exhausted. Needless to say, I'm so glad this week is over. I'm looking forward to a wonderful, relaxing weekend where I spend time with my honey!
