So yesterday i went to Joannes and got yarn. I am starting my crocetting early this year! I am going to be optimistic and hope it gets down to 80's in early October... Although at the rate we are going it will still be 100 in October... I want to move somewhere cold. I love sweaters and blankets and layers! I LOVE Winter and Snow ( Read more... )

AHHH I LOVE CROCHET.

I picked up my first hank of yarn today. GLEE.

I'm going to learn to knit this year, though. Cuter stuff, but in my heart, I will always be a hooker.

My mom said she would teach me to knit if she can remember. I got really exciting because i have been crocheting since i was like 10. I now want to learn to knit socks and sweaters. Thats exciting to know someone else who is into crochet.
What color yarn did you get and what are you planning on making with it?

A supersoft alpaca and some artificial something or other. I want to make convertible gloves-to-fingerless-mittens. I made some a few years back, but I only had chunky weird cheap yarn on hand. They turned out really well, but the yarn was so thick and crappy that they were no fun to wear.

I'm told knitting is a lot easier (HAH, I tried briefly once and I felt totally inferior.), but primarily I want to do cables. You CAN do it with crochet, but it turns out so much better knitting <3

What are your plans for the season? I will send you some of our below zero weather. It really puts some motivation behind the pieces, you sort of get the "AHA NOW MY FINGERS WILL NOT TURN BLACK AND DIE~!" accomplishment behind it.

ohh those sound nice. I want to learn. I have been doing this for such a long time all i have made is scarves and blankets... I am hoping that by starting early i can finish this blanket and then move on to maybe socks or something. I always feel kinda dumb though cuz it isn't cold here... Please send some of your below zero weather. Like for every degree below 20 send it here and Arizona may get some snow! Maybe Martin and I will go skiing again and i can take my knitting up to the mountains again. That will be fun. Well good luck in your knitting!
