It was a brief flash, nothing more. It was just a second, half a second, where they looked at each other. And they didn’t look at each other with vision clouded by hate and mistrust; they looked at each other.
Robin stared at Guy for that second, and saw a little boy, who was in love with Marian. He saw Guy’s heartbreak that was yet to come. Because Marian was dead. Dead, dead, dead.
Guy looked back at him, and saw a man, so brave and strong, and so broken. Killing and killing and killing, heartless, and he was terrified of what had happened to make this so.
Robin didn’t shoot him; Guy said nothing. They stared. It was a brief flash, nothing more. Just a second, half a second, where they looked at each other. And saw each other. Truly.
