Know what I hate?
Defriending people.
It's so...rejecty. And you remember them from way back when, and they remember you, or you're not sure if they'll take it personally, or they once sent you a mix disc or gave you advice about a crappy boyfriend, or you roleplayed with them, or they wrote that one story once and you never know if they'll have a paranoid freakfit and lock everything up and you'll never read it again and what if they're writing the great American fanfic epic next month, huh? And in a way, defriending someone with whom you have no fandoms in common anymore is kind of like saying those fandoms are dead, and you swore they'd NEVER be dead, and you're not READY for the era to END. And what if their mom dies and you aren't there to say 'I'm sorry'? What if you defriend someone who totally was lurking but hung on your every word and used your plight to get through their sad and lonely existence? What if you forgot that a really good friend changed her name and you defriend her going 'wtf is that?' and she gets offended and flips out? What kind of person are you?
The other thing I hate is change, but I recently made a major one and I think (after literally years of debate) it's time for a second.
I'd debated, in my brisker housecleaning moments, just deleting this journal and starting fresh, with a more manageable and focused friendslist so I could really enjoy the experience of being a fan. But I hated to ditch the memories and fiction here. In a bout of duh, the solution hit me: old new journal! (Yes, I have twelve accounts. No, I have never sock-puppeted. Shush.)
stonedtodeath I'll crosspost my fic here so I can link it and so people can associate it with previous fics for search purposes. If you're here solely for the fiction, please stay friended to
xoverau and feel no obligation to add the other journal. If you'd like to remain my friend in other capacities which may include semi-amusing anecdotes, leftist pronouncements, fannish squee, nattering, polls about my life, polls about bandboys' lives, posts of naked pictures, and the occasional story about stuff what never happened, please add:
stonedtodeath I can't guarantee every single person will be added back--part of my goal is to streamline my fandom experience--but I suspect I'll friend the overwhelming majority.
To those with whom I lose touch this way, it was great. Thanks for your friendship as long as I had it. To everyone else, see you soon!
