you know its weird but I feel so guilty for some reason that my mind fills in that its proof he's reaching for, is it disrespecful to slash those who have gone?

No more so than to slash people who haven't, I don't think. I mean...imagining someone to have had love and caring while they were alive doesn't seem any more disrespectful to me than imagining a still-living person having those things.
