More lists from the last meme (and wow, do I suck with finishing these):

For poetrychik:

1) I like Lance because he's hot, in good shape, goofy, brave, disciplined, driven, and--yes--smart. I don't think he could've made it as far as he did toward going into space if he wasn't.

2) I dislike...er, let's see. His new and less distinctive nose. And I gotta say, his past overcompensation (THREE blond Playmate-types at one event? Body shots on camera? Heterosexual face sucking at every party?) was a tad embarrassing. Also, I've always gotten the feeling I wouldn't be friends with Lance if I knew him; he's too extroverted and cares too overtly about what people think.

3) Plotline involving Lance...Lord, I'd write his whole life story from school to now. And make it JoLa, because that's what it's all about. And in the end they would be DOMESTIC and HAPPY and Kelly and the kids would understand when he moved in, and they would all LOVE EACH OTHER often.

4) Lance's superpower would be a subtle type of mind control. He'd be able to divert attention from himself, or give a better impression than he would've normally.

5) His ideal partner would be JOEY. Joey Joey Joey. Smush.

For trumpeterofdoom:

1) What I like would be a really long list, so I'll kind of do bullet points. Abs. Eyes. Voice. Size. Inner strength. Collars. Liner. Talent. Heart. Tenderness. Vulnerability. AWWWWWWWW AJ.

2) What I dislike, hmm. Bad taste in bimbos women? Not always, but uh. There are a few rockers I'd like to force-feed saltpeter, and he's one of them. Either that, or set up some kind of "If you can walk under the tits, you're too short for this ride" rule.

3) Again, I love my/our goth medium!AJ.

4) Medium!

5) Brian. Hells yes.

For sucuri:

Caveat: I'm not a reader of the series, so this is all based on movies and a few crossovers.

1) He's a human being. Okay okay, a real human being couldn't survive most of what's happened to him, but still. By comic standards, he's a regular joe. He has sufficient moral ambiguity to make him interesting. He's tormented. He has issues. AWESOME.

2) He's gotten a little crazy-convoluted. Too 'super'. The sad fate of all non-supernatural comic heroes.

3) DOIN' IT WITH DAREDEVIL. Because they can both see in the dark. And Daredevil is hawt.

4) Uh...none, really. I like him normal, relatively speaking.

5) The Bat is a lonely Bat! And I like him that way, too.

For beatpropx, who is BACK IN THE COUNTRY YAY:

1) I like him for the same reason I like Batman (shut UP, Gale). He's human. He gets calluses on his heels and wakes up sweaty and plays with the little tin things on pop cans and drops his butts into his Mountain Dew and has fits of temper and insecurity and gets that hot-nickel taste in his throat from running on frosty mornings. He can die. That's why him becoming a Setite was a real blow in our MC-verse. He lost that human quality.

2) I dislike him...hmm. Hard to know how to answer that question. As a writer, I dislike that several versions of the character caused bleed-over, altering past Prestons to be more in align with current ones and vice versa. Also that, to fit the WW template and to drive the game forward, he became a ST character--a tad overpowered and underflawed. Speaking just about him as a character, obviously his vices are his flaws--gambling, risk-taking, overprotectiveness.

3) Hmm. I'd write part of his backstory--him interviewing for colleges, and that first trip to a big university in his borrowed respectable clothes with all of his piercings freshly removed, riding Greyhound with a guy coughing on his shoulder and a book open on his lap and his earbuds screwed in. That fleeting desire for what he sees there on the clean campus and in the big buildings crammed with equipment, the little warren of coffeeshops and record stores with tiny apartments over them, the four-story library, the thousands of people who don't know or care that he's from a trailer in Orem. Or maybe I'd write about the first guy he meets away from home.

4) I don't like him with superpowers. Maybe something subtle, minor, like empathy or a connection with his twin.

5) He's sort of a multi-OTP guy, but for someone who'll always be with him, who's his partner...definitely Branden. No other contenders.

I owe joanne_c a few, too, but those'll be in another post.
