Dear Author, and I Use That Term Loosely,
Do not state "No 'ships" in your warnings and then have your canon male character say (regarding your canon female character's hair), "I think it's a glorious, willful mane to suit a brave, strong-minded girl." That's more than just a mild backdrop of non-canonical het with canon characters. THAT IS THE LANGUAGE OF A 'SHIP. I recommend, instead, a puke bucket warning.
For the record, I would feel the same had your canon male character said it about another male. Glorious willful MANE, for Christ's holy sake.
