Possibly a silly question, but is there any good fic out there that deals with asexuality? Barring that, stories which feature celibacy as a happy choice? Barring that, stories in which a character chooses not to get into any romantic relationship and sticks to that conviction?

Hee! I'm not particularly attached to smut under most circumstances. I skip it in fic. I don't dislike it, but it'd be cool to read a different approach for once. :)

Bah! I was just playin' perv and such. I mean, I love the smut, but I don't need the smut. That's what the other 57% of the internet is for.

OMG! You too??

I skip smut a lot. A LOT.
Unless it's REALLY well written smut. I'm (surprise, surprise) more willing to read femmeslash than (guy)slash, which doesn't happen much in our fandom.

But most of the time anyway: it's the leadup that's really hot. Too many euphemisms and awkward descriptions. (God, I hate euphemisms. Too many years reading bad romance novels have totally drained my patience for that.)

Sex....I dunno, the good part of sex is being there and feeling it, not thinking about what you're doing. Hopefully! And you can't type that. It would come out a lot like, "Oh. There. No, left. Ooohhhas.fyeahthat'safhjes."

One time, a friend and I spent a year and a half writing a multisexual orgy. Fourteen hours a day, eighteen months, ORGY. It topped out at 50,000 pages.

When you consider that that's a tenth or less of the sex I've written in my life, without even weighing what I've READ and WATCHED and PERFORMED... I'm surprised I'm not asexual. *grin*

I find the hottest sex to be just like that. Lots of vocalization and simple words. None of these weird, wandering descriptions that pull me out of my body and into my head.
