I was doing this with iphignia939 last night and it was fun and I'm already climbing the walls so why not?

Give me the names of two characters I might know, and I'll make up a summary or outline for a fic that pairs them. Male, female, RPS, FPS, whatever fandom, however weird. (Because I'm xoverAU, I reserve the right to make some of them AUs.) Go!

Joe's really not that cool. Onstage? Kinda cool, like people on stages are. Inside, not cool. By contrast, Patrick looks like Truman Capote with a dressing disorder and is really cool, and Joe studies him for months, looking for why.

He thinks it's his hands some days, the educated way they flex and settle, drawing boxes in the air. Sometimes he thinks it's the laughter at the back of his eyes, not always kind. Sometimes he thinks it's that Patrick doesn't care, and sometimes he thinks it's that Patrick doesn't care about him.

The irony of a straight man leading him, another straight man, on so miserably isn't lost on Joe. Unfortunately, he's still lost to it.

And Patrick teases and Joe yearns and nothing happens except you wonder if Patrick could possibly be doing it on purpose, looking at Joe from under the brim of his hat with his own hand on Anna's knee as both of them eat barbecue. And yes.

William/AndyAndy's a sophomore in college who traveled to Japan for a couple weeks for hiking and mental R&R and

JC's haunted by dreams of a bright light and voices. Finally a therapist tells him it could be memories of his real parents and regresses him into hypnosis, recording the session for educational purposes.

Shortly after, a file Mulder's flagged pops up an alert on Scully's computer--her terminal's slaved to his while he's out of town working a case--and she listens to the recording of a hypnotized JC relating what might be an abduction by aliens or a government agency. The file Mulder's flagged is located in a database indicating possible threats to be eliminated.

She can't reach Mulder, so she goes to talk to him herself. There's an immediate attraction, especially with JC all scared and tired-eyed and scruffy and Dana already lumping him into a category with Mulder and Samantha. Comforting, healing sex ensues!

This one practically writes itself! Oz travels around for a while after leaving Willow, living in his van and trying to find a place to sleep after the wolf nights. He thinks too much and has too many bad dreams to sleep well, so he starts going to shows to exhaust and distract himself. He wants to be bled of pain

JC/Pete Doherty...you know, I'd love to do a bandsmush where JC was a member of the Libertines. Sure, it's silly and impossible, but when has that ever stopped us? He and Gary could hang! They'd fight cracking up during all the photoshoots and play pranks on each other and tear up through the dressing rooms. JC would scrunch up behind Carl on the bus and wrap his arms around him and whisper things in his ear, which annoys the hell out of him until he gives up. And one night they'd smoke a lot of hash and end up in bed and JC would wake up with Pete kicking him in the kidney, shouting things he could barely understand

Preston and Pyro! OMG. *flail* I. CRAP. I don't know enough about Pyro to do him justice or I totally would pick that one.

Rogue/Gerard

This one I see as an established relationship. Hell, it would fit in canon. She's off fighting the good fight--or the bad one, whatever--most of the time, and she doesn't like being photographed or sticking around for interviews for many reasons. She visits Westchester every now and again, and it's not that far to Jersey. Gerard's not a lustful guy--he'd much rather have a heated, fascinating conversation or argue about books or go to an art show or taste test different kinds of Asian food--so the no-sex thing isn't that huge a deal. He misses being able to hold her hand more than he does a simple jerk-and-spurt. They're both volatile and opinionated, and she has unfinished business with that Cajun guy, so on the infrequent occasions when they talk about their relationship they admit they're happy being apart a lot of the time.
