The click of Helen's heels echoed faintly as she walked slowly through the hallway. A book was hugged to her chest with a few placemarkers sticking out. She'd been doing a great deal of research as of late, nearly all of it centering around the notion of influencing genetic coding to create or alter mutant powers. It was an old pet project of hers, and one that she had never truly abandoned, but there were times when her occupation caused her to get wrapped up in historical events and the molding of young minds, rather than her own personal work.
Not that she would complain. Her job at the academy was one of her greatest joys. Helen counted herself extremely lucky to be involved with such a beautiful organization. She only wished to be more helpful to their cause, and perhaps her research could unlock some key to helping the world understand these mutations.
Her office wasn't that far off. She intended to continue her research well into the night, and once that was finished, there was grading to be done. With that in mind, the pace of her steps picked up.
