Gah! Sorry it's taken me days to get back to this. But I wanted to be able to read and comment properly, so here I am!

I keep seeing typos and can't get in to fix them I swear that mistakes are written in some kind of invisible ink that only shows up once you post on Livejournal. True story.

First off, I love the premise of this! It reads like a great episode of Supernatural, which is always a good sign. You even had hints of the overarching story-lines that are going on at this point in SPN canon (like Dean dealing with the aftermath of being in hell) that added to the authentic SPN atmosphere.

“Dude,” Dean said, low and even as he could manage, ‘cause the guy’s cocky smirk was making him feel like a cat whose fur was being rubbed the wrong way, “get offa my car.” Yes! Kirk's smirk would make Dean act exactly like a grumpy cat.

Fuck if the guy, who must’ve been a couple of years younger than Dean, didn’t sound like he was used to people doing exactly what he said-all the time. Heehee. Yeah, that's Kirk after just a little time as Captain. Jim "I always get my way sooner or later" Kirk.

“What’s the matter, Jim?” it said, voice cold and precise, hint of an accent Dean couldn’t place, “Can’t choose between them? Can’t decide whether to shoot Spock, or let your best friend die? Or, wait, maybe Spock is your best friend?” it made the phrase somehow obscene, “Hard to have two, isn’t it?” Eeee! I was on the edge of my seat for this scene. Just imagining how hard this would be for Spock, who's usually so reserved, and poor Kirk, trying to find a way out of this particular no-win scenario... When he started to hurt Bones, it's possible I yelled at the computer, "Damnit, Winchesters, do something!"
But I can neither confirm nor deny those reports.

“That-that’s not something that actually happens,” Bones breathed, voice a little ragged. Heh heh. Oh Bones, of course the universe can't make sense all the time.

“Uh-huh. And I’m Han Solo,” Dean shot back, “and this is my Wookie, Chewbacca,” he gestured at his brother. Heh. Yeah, sounds about right.

I love your Dean voice. “Seriously? Seriously?” Dean interjected, “They still say shit like that in the future?” El. Oh. El. and this: “Is this an exorcism or the Junior Prom?”

The way you linked Spock's Vulcan mental discipline to his ability to resist possession was a really interesting idea. Of course, we must have the patented research montage scene (complete w/ pizza)!

Foolishly, Dean had thought that getting a drink meant, y’know, drinking. Or maybe playing a few games of pool. But mostly drinking. Apparently for Jim Kirk it meant grabbing a bottle of beer, and then looking for the quickest way to start a fight. Oh boys. They're so alike in so many ways, it's no wonder Dean recognizes something in Kirk. I loved Kirk's ridiculous flirting.

Both Kirk and McCoy looked shaken-this was clearly so far from Spock’s normal behavior that it was like a planet spinning away from its access. Ooo, snap! You know you'd never hurt Sammy, even if he did go all Demon King on you.

Dean wondered whether “wackjob” was some kind of requirement for starship captains. Yes, Dean. Yes it is.

Thank you thank you for this! I loved all the detail and the depth of character you infused into the plot. It was a very fun read, and I'm a very lucky girl!

Oh wow! Thanks so much for the lovely, long, detailed comment! I'm so glad you liked the story!

I'm glad you liked the Dean POV--He and Kirk are a lot alike, but (maybe because of that) I thought they would also rub each other the wrong way at times...

I was thinking a lot of "Born Under a Bad Sign," and the way Meg!Sam keeps trying to goad Dean into killing Sam, and Dean keeps saying "I'd rather die myself"--and S4 Dean has changed a lot, but it would still be very hard for him to tell Kirk to give up on Spock...

Anyway--I mostly wanted it to be fun--so I'm really glad you enjoyed it!
