*glomps you* i don't know where to start. the characterization was WONDERFUL. Adele's complacency with her lot in life, despite having seen things so much greater, her evaluation of the Doctor and how he doesn't really fit in with what she's built up as a moral code - the bit about shades of grey vs. black-and-white was so simple, but it hit just right.

As expected, he’s disgusted. - for only being with him a couple of weeks she knows him quite well. i almost feel like comparing her to Sarah Jane here - in that both of them went on to live their lives, but he somehow still affects them - Sarah Jane went on a quest for justice because what she's seen/done makes her special, while Adele struggles with what she does because she feels how insignificant she really is in the grand scheme of the universe.

i love Topher. he's probably my favorite character overall, and his moments are perfect. i can so see his flailing enthusiasm when he starts poking around the TARDIS.

and the thought of the Doctor trying to reach Alpha - that's an interesting idea all in itself b/c Alpha can't be swayed by Ten's big speeches and promises, he has his own conviction, and Ten's approach would have never worked...Alpha would have killed him or the Doctor would have been forced to make a choice that he never likes or wants to make. in terms of the latter, i feel like Adele saved him this time by infuriating him - sending Mister Dominic in kept him from having to deal with that choice, and let him continue to think he could have made it work his way.

i just really really love Adele & the Doctor, for as much as most of the good stuff is in Adele's appraisal of the Doctor. thank you so so much for this! YAYS :oD

I wish on the sign-up sheet we could have mentioned favourite characters. Before writing this, I tried like fifty-billion other scenarios with different fandoms and characters. In the end, I thought I'd just have to write it. Adelle is my favourite character and I can write her best, so I went with her, but I worried that you wouldn't like Adelle. Glad you enjoyed the Topher bits :)
