This year we're going to do fandom nominations in two stages. Firstly we'll be collecting nominations for fandoms that were not on last year’s Qualifying Fandoms list. Then we'll take those nominations and make a poll to see which of the suggested fandoms are most popular. We haven’t decided yet how many fandoms will be added in total this year; we

Are the fandoms listed above the only ones being removed from the qualifying fandoms list, or will there potentially be more removals after the nominations period is over?

aurilly will have to confirm this, but at the moment, I think those are the only four we're cutting from the list.

Just to confirm, it's hard to tell if any more will be cut and how many new ones will be added. The automatic adds have already taken up three spots, so we really don't have many left. It kind of depends on how the polls turn out and if there are more than a couple of fandoms that are hugely popular. If we think we need to cut more, we'll let everyone know in the next post. It's always kind of up in the air right until we post the final list, and it's always hard to draw the line of how many will be added/cut.

I do have a question though. The Slender Man Mythos... eligible, y/n? It's a tricky one, I can easily see it falling either way. It's so nebulous, but there is definite live-action source material within it (like Marble Hornets).

I'm cool if the answer is no, I just want to know whether or not to use up a nomination on it :)

You have no idea how much I want to say yes because I am the biggest Slender Man junkie ever but I'm going to have to go with no, I'm sorry. At the moment we're trying to keep the fandoms to TV shows and movies only. Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog is the one exception but that one has been kind of grandfathered in from the very first round of the exchange, before we had completely decided how we wanted to do things.

I'm sorry to hear about your bad day! I hope things keep getting better :)

TEN THOUSAND AMAZINGS. I had some prompts up my sleeve (just in case), and one was some sort of Slender Man/Weeping Angels combo. I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW THAT WOULD WORK. (I also might have filled a word doc with notes for a non-related-to-this-exchange Gilmore Girls/Slender Man crossover. Because of course I did.)

Also, lol, back in 2009, I genuinely thought Dr. Horrible had aired on TV. All I knew was that it was a thing people liked that some kind person had put on YouTube. That is how it got grandfathered in.

Are characters from the other movies included in the Avengees? As in, can I ask for Rhodey, Bucky, Jane, etc?

I'm not familiar with The Avengers at all, so aurilly will have to clarify this for you. We're using the Avengers movieverse umbrella to include the Iron Man, Thor, The Hulk, Captain America etc movies, if that helps?
