Philippines...
I've been here for 6 days so far...
I feel like I've been here for many years now, I guess I've adjusted.
I've been staying at home with my grandfather and our maid, Ate Bell. Relatives come in and out.. cousins come home late... I amuse myself with observing the surroundings; a beauty to their own.
I've been treated like a good guest, I'm very thankful and grateful... the traditional filipino food were great.. I've never had as much of a taste of such a variety of native foods until now.
Really, I love this family!... I don't think there's any better family out there... (for me anyways).
Despite the fact that the rest of my immediate family is still back in Canada, they've taken their time off just to tour me around historical attractions (Intramuros, Fort Santiago, Luneta Park, etc) and even he local sights (Cathedral, Barasoain) has been full of wonders for me...
Multiply walks down memory lane...
Now I sit here... my laptop resting on the pingpong table. I face the gate leading to the outside, an open space but protected from the outside world with grills and gates; theft a constant threat in such a desperate world.
Its hot.. but the wind cools off my sweat. My grandpa steps in, lively and kicking... now he's sitting beside me questioning me and repeating things he's said before... a sign of old age, but he's still at top health, it surprises me.
