So... pretty much at church, our priest was talking about and making everyone aware of the

About Holland, I didn't mean to be offensive in anyway and I just said what I have heard about Bill C 384.
I agree , with what you've said, that yes people don't get sent to hospital to just die... I didn't mean in that way. My grandmother, a few years ago, actually died in a foreign country due to aneurysm and was on life support until my family decided to stop it. So I totally agree with you that it's still the families that get the consent, and the hospitals won't just do anything without permission.
For the elderly people, being a volunteer and having spent a large amount of time with them, I feel they are somewhat at peace there but at the same time I can see their sadness, missing their children and/or grandchildren. It's just it would be sad to see them turn to this law, for some elderly who don't even have any sickness at all, if it does get legalized by the parliament.
So that's all I wanted to say, that I hope people who still have a chance at life, won't have to be at such a state to turn to this kind of law. But again, thank you for your opinion, I appreciate the effort you put into your thoughts ^__^

Yes, I agree it would be really sad if elder people would turn to this law only because they are depressed- however, at least here in Holland there's no doctor whatsoever who will agree to perform euthanasia on a such a person. It's not even allowed- that would fall under assisted suicide and is illegal! I don't know the details about the Canadian bill of course, but I can hardly believe it's okay over there to end someone's life just because they're depressed.
