Heroes Finale

May 27, 2007 03:39

So after staying up until 6.30 am Saturday; sleeping; going to work at 10.30 am; getting home at 6.30 pm; sleeping until about 11 pm; phone call from Des... I just finished the finale of Heroes.

But first, episode 20: "Five Years Gone." I'm sorry, making Peter look like Neo, in both fighting style and dress, was RETARDED. See, it was so bad I had to use all caps, bold, and italics. Heroes is better than The Matrix, so try and make it look like it. Otherwise, the "Days of Future Past" vibe was pretty well done in tone without swiping. Back to the finale...

I'd heard people say they tried cramming too much in at the end, they waited until the last six minutes of the episode... and numerous other disappointments not worth mentioning. Why? Because it was great. They built the drama well throughout the entire episode, even if the climax wasn't the expected drama. They also didn't just throw different people into the roles of the X-Men and then give us the "Last Stand" ending of that movie. This show has never been showing us the assembling of powered team; it's always been about drama.

Only 3 months until it's on DVD!

As for the future... someone worse than the bogeyman? I hope so. Sylar has his moments, but he generally wears me pretty thin. I would love to see more development of the character Candice. Molly & Micah interacting was awesome. We should really have more of The Haitian. If that thing at the beginning of Volume 2 is any kind of lame alien craft, I will probably consider that jumping-the-shark... not even BKV could save it then. Otherwise, I'd be pretty happy if BKV could leave Lost for Heroes.

The Tudors is about to air it's finale, too. Damn.

Lunch with C, M & H tomorrow; then work; and lots of lettering goodness on Monday. Off next weekend!!!
