THE RAINBOW PIMP POST

L-R: Jisook, Hyunyoung, Yoonhye, Jaekyung, Seunga, Woori, Noeul

Rainbow (레인보우) is a 7 member girl group under DSP Entertainment. Rumors about them as a new group spread in January 2009, but they didn't debut until November with the song Gossip Girl. After promoting their first single, they went onto a second called Not Your Girl, which is the reply song to label mate SS501's U R Man. Rainbow then came back in August with A (and the ab dance~), and in October, began promotions for their follow-up single called Mach. They then came back with a single by Daishi Dance called To Me, followed up by Sweet Dream. The group debuted in Japan in September with the Japanese version of A, and in December came out with the Japanese version of Mach. Seunga, Jisook, and Hyunyoung debuted in the sub-group Rainbow Pixie with the single Hoi Hoi in January 2012. The group's first official Japanese single Gonna Gonna Go! was released on March 14th. They're preparing for a comeback during July or August at the earliest.

Originally, the name Rainbow was just a nickname to the girls given to them by their fans. But Kim Kyujong from SS501 had said that their former name was too difficult, so he suggested a common image, a "rainbow", to represent them. And so Rainbow was born! Their fanclub is called Rain-nous, a combination of Rainbow and Luminous. It means that their fanclub will support Rainbow until the members' 7 colours shine brightly. :)
