"What's that coming over the hill"

I just watched "Monster," the Korean-version.

Despite it being a horror movie and shit, it's actually pretty sentimental. It made me feel a good and warm inside; strange, but true.

The "Monster" began by a big mistake made by a white guy. Seriously. No Joke.

Big White Doctor told the Silly Korean Doctor to pour toxic chemicals down the sink right into Han River. Silly Korean Doctor does so; Thus the "Monster" is born.

The beginning was horrifying though.... When the monster first pops out of the water and eating people and chasing them down, I was all "hoshit." But it was only the beginning that was the truly "scary" part. It was just blood and gore and human-eating then. I was sickened at the masses of bodies that met that unfortunate end. (Especially when they were stuck in that trailer thing with the monster and there was blood everywhere...)

It got worse later on.

The main character, whose daughter was taken away by the monster, was "infected" by the monster's virus. His whole family was taken away and all he wanted was to find his daughter (who was still alive). Many things happened, which included the death of an old man who only wanted to avenge his granddaughter, and the realization that humans can be cruel in the face of danger.

The movie itself was full of family love and the very severe consequences of polluting rivers with toxic wastes. (Fishes don't turn into Teenage Mutant Ninja Fishies, we learn by watching this movie. They turn to "Monsters" instead by morphing into themselves. )

It was a good movie. Korean Version that is. I don't know about the American version. Watch it anyway, what the hell.

The monster's ugly as shit by the way.
