WTF
allright. so i can understand us having a bad streak of luck. but when it comes to like the 6th game in row and we've lost more than double what we've won, people break down. including me.
now, we've improved SO much as a team. we had girls that had never even kicked a soccer ball down the field, and now they're making amazing runs.
but it's not enough.
we say the same exact things each and every game and practice, and nothing changes. nobody gets open or moves for the ball. nobody talks/communicates with each other, and we end up colliding into each other and looking like we have our heads up our asses. we jump and turn when the ball is coming to us, and it hits off of our shoulders and again, makes us look like idiots. we trash talk the other teams and the refs. we get no respect at all for our record, do we REALLY need to be giving other schools--even Salem and Canton--more reasons to hate us and disrespect us? no. why don't we fucking SHUT UP, and get them to shut up by BEATING THEM. it's not that hard of a concept, really, i swear.
and the most frustrating thing is that half of the people on our team don't even care if we win or lose. they're just like "oh, that sucks." and they don't give a flying FUCK how we do. do you not understand that this is our team? our pride is at stake. we get no respect from other schools, soccer players, even OURSELVES. are we really ok with that? Well, i'm not. i'm not saying that after a shitty-ass game we should go home and cry and bawl and throw temper tantrums, but for the LOVE OF THE GAME--do you even care?! when the other half of us are working our asses off and running ourselves into the ground to try and regain some pride, they're off playing with their hair or trash-talking other girls or talking about what guy they like that hour.
i'm not saying we shouldn't have lives outside of soccer or anything, but when 16 other girls are depending on you to give your game 150%, half-assing it just doesn't cut it. as my old coach used to say "i'd rather have 8 hard-working, dedicated players that will give it 500% on the field, and will leave it all on the field, then 11 players that don't try. i'll play short if i have to, but we're not going to have players on the field that don't care."
if you don't care about the game; don't make the ones that do pay.
and btw: i don't hate any of the girls on my team; i love them all to death. they're all sweethearts and hilarious and i'm so glad that i know them all. its all in the game of soccer that frustrates me. we can do so much better than this. we DESERVE to win. and i don't know why we can't seem to get our act together as a team. we have girls saying how they "do their own thing" on the field...and we just can't have that. its a team sport and one person can't play for the whole team. it's not a one-man show.
we shouldn't have lost. period.
