Last night I got the sleeves cut out. Only took me about 2 hours. That includes the lining for the sleeves as well.
What is left:
-piece the sleeves with the lining
-put trim on the sleeves (hand work)
-stitch cotton band on inside of waist of doublet
-stitch down lining around armhole of doublet (hand work)
-attach lacing rings to doublet (hand work)
-attach lacing rings to sleeves (hand work)
-make button holes (most likely will use machine for this)
-attach buttons (hand work)
-attach snaps/hook and eyes (hand work) (don't know which will use yet, depends on what I already have in stock)
I was toying with the idea of trimming out the sleeves more than just the band around the cuff. I decided not to do that for two reasons: 1, not enough time to really do this and 2, I don't think it would look as good as it does right now.
I am super super glad my husband is roughly the same size as the future king. My husbands chest is bigger, but the shape is the same and it looks good (if a little small) on him, so it should be awesome on the future king.
I still hope he likes it. I am soooooo nervous about it.
