Ran my first race since high school this morning, it was a 5k and i came into the race injured, my left calf was and still is in extreme pain and my left food has skin torn up.
I was originally going to run with Christina but she ended up backing out because of some RA job that made her stay up till 6, so i was free to go as fast as i wanted.
I was worried because I haven't actually ran a race in such a long time and on top of all of that I was in a lot of pain.
The Race started and i stayed with the fast group for about a mile and a half and my calf felt like it worked its way into the race, I felt like i could get a sub 18 possible 17 which is what i wanted on a good day, my long term goal is a 15-16 but ill need to train for that.
Well anyways.
On a turn, i ended up really doing something lame and hurt my calf.
The pain was back and it hurt more than ever, had to fall back and just limit my losses.
Broke away from the fast pace group
Ended with 21:31.
Far from what i wanted but cant expect to do much with being hurt, im just really happy i had a race again.
