My government teacher offers an extra credit oppurtunity for all her classes, one of which is to do a book report. One of the books on the list is Farenheit 451 which I just read for the first time yesterday (its a book I've been meaning to read anyways). And this is definitely one of the scariest books I have ever rerad. If anyone reads this and is not incredibly frightened by it (because the events seem so real and not so far away in the future) then there is probably something wrong with them, if you do not find this book exceptionally disturbing then you are as mindless as the people in the book. Ok, enough about that. I'm actually really glad that I'm taking this government class, not only is it intersting but I'm also rediscovering some things that are very interesting to me and that I can get really passionate about. One of which is politics which I would never go into because politics corrupts people; another one is history which I lloked at in the UCF majors but the classes don't excite me; then I got to looking at some other majors and found one where every class listed looks better than the one before it - Humanities with a concentration in Religious Studies. They have a class in Classical Mythology (one of my favorite subjects) a class in Native American Religion, a class in death and dying (sounds morbid but not to me) a class in Literature of the Bible, a class in Ways of Knowing, and so many more classes where just thinking about the subjects gets me really excited. I really don't want to drop my theatre major (and I probably won't) but I have been seriously considering doing another major after I finish the BFA. I'm so frustrated right now that the BFA program won't let you do a double major - I mean, if you think about it theatre is one of the majors where it should be a requirement to have another major along with it. I also want to get a teaching certificate so that I can teach theatre and maybe other things (which I'd be able to do if I did this other major). It would take me at least another two years which I don't really mind so much but I would probably have to take out loans to pay for it. Although, who knows - depending on how this next semester goes for me maybe I will switch majors. A lot of people in the program have me rubbed the wrong way and it makes a huge difference to me when I consider having to work with these people, it'll be difficult and I don't know if its really worth it. I guess I'll just have to see, I trust everyhting will work out
