Lauren and I went to Wonder Con at the Moscone Center in South San Francisco. We met up there with my uncle, my aunt (Marissa), my cousin, my brother, and Marissa's brother and his wife. Lauren and I got there around 10 AM and we waited around them for about half an hour. Once we got inside, we went separate ways: my uncle, my brother, my cousin, and Marissa's brother and his wife went to watch sneak peeks of Watchmen while Marissa, Lauren, and I shopped around. We ended up walking past Carrie Fisher! I also took a picture of Adam West!
All the big events of the day were being held in a huge ballroom and we had a list of certain things we really wanted to see. The main ones we had to catch were Star Trek, 9, and Terminator Salvation.
Then we had nothing else to do so we decided to wait in line to get into the Star Trek event. We got in line around noon and the Star Trek event didn't start until 2:45 PM. We got inside the big ballroom where they were doing all the big events. We got inside just in time because we got to see sneak peeks of The Knowing and Astro Boy.
Then the Pandorum event started and we saw Ben Foster and Cung Le! After that, they had the Alien Trespass event and we saw Eric McCormack, Dan Lauria, and R. W. Goodwin! They did a question and answering for a while.
Then massive amounts of people started coming in so we knew it was almost 2:45 PM. In the program book, it said there would be a special guest at the Star Trek panel and then J. J. Abrams walked out! He talked about the film for a while then he decided to bring out the rest of the panel...ZACHARY QUINTO CAME OUT! I just started screaming! It didn't even register with me that I was screaming for Zachary Quinto until after I had done it. THEN THEY BROUGHT OUT CHRIS PINE! Ohhh. I adore Chris Pine. I've loved him since his movie career started. Then we watched a never before seen trailer for Star Trek! It'll be shown at the preimere of Watchmen. Then they had panel questions for maybe 15 minutes.
After that, there was a short break and they started showing clips for the next film called 9. And out came Elijah Wood! OH MY GOODNESS! Let me tell you, his eyes are more intense when you see him in person! After that, two men who worked on Up came out...one of whom was Pete Docter, the director! They showed us about 17 minutes of clips from Up. That movie looks so funny.
After that, there was another short break and another mass of people started walking in which meant the event for Terminator Salvation was going to start soon. McG came out! He talked for a while then he got EVERYONE in the audience on the edge of their seat when he said he was going to call Christian Bale! I really, really thought he was going to call, Christian Bale was going to answer, then walk out on stage while they were talking to each other. Really, that's what the situation looked like, I swear. Sadly, it didn't happen. But they brought out other cast members including Anton Yelchin, Bryce Dallas Howard, Common, and Moon Bloodgood. They did a question and answering for that panel as they did with all the others. After the Terminator event, Lauren and I left and drove back to school. We stopped at Denny's for dinner after we got lost in San Francisco for about an hour.
Today was absolutely wonderful! I've never been to an event as big as this and it was a blast even though I'm not the biggest comic book person. I love the natural high you get from things like these. What sucks now is I'm coming down from that high. :(
But the best part of the day was DEFINITELY seeing Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine! They're just so good looking it should be illegal. <3
