It's quite a remarkable fact that no matter how much practice they have, no matter how target-rich the environment, the Syrians never manage to bomb anything but bakeries, nursery schools, clinics, and the like. We need to share the bombing technology that we used during WWII, that allowed us to reduce entire cities to smouldering rubble without harming any civilians.

I saw a guy yesterday at the store wearing one of those surgical masks. I may do that myself, just to take part in the faddish panic. They're honestly not a bad idea in practical terms, really. I've seen asians wearing those for years during the flu season.

I'm reassured that the government is taking the Chinese Doom seriously. It's quite the contrast with the 2014 Ebola epidemic.
