In which I am found to be senile, but still better off than Manu

I'm obviously incorrect, but I really thought that we admitted some years ago that our proxies shot Dag Hammerskjold down with a Red-Eye shoulder launched AA missile. That's obviously incorrect, since a bit of checking reveals that weapon system didn't complete initial testing until 1962, and it was 1967 before it went into service.

That's the second time in a few months that I seem to "remember" something that's demonstrably untrue. I would have sworn on oath that the XIV Amendment (birthright citizenship) used the phrase "subject to the proper jurisdiction [of the United States]". It doesn't. It just says "subject to the jurisdiction".

Little Manu seems to have bravely run away to hide. I'd been expecting him to attend the global warming meeting in Poland, to urge everyone to increase carbon taxes.

IMHO, he's conceded too little, too late. I also think that cancelling the football matches for the day is a tactical mistake - a lot of young working-class men that would have watched their team on TV now have nothing to occupy their afternoon. We'll find out tomorrow.
