I decorated for Halloween this year. That's kind of a big deal for me, since I was in the middle of decorating for Halloween in 2011 when I found out that Findra had died. The theme is more properly "autumn", I suppose, since I've got grapevine wreaths and indian corn hung on both sides of the front door, and yellow, orange, and brown (srsly) fairy lights in the windows, along with garland that looks like dead, frosted maple leaves. Very pretty. I'll perhaps make a Jack o'Lantern too, but that'll not happen until just before Halloween, as the skwirls and qoons will most assuredly eat it, as they do everyone else's.

Arthritis is acting up again as the weather changes. This is that time of year when I slather myself with capsaicin, and consequently can stand eating much, much hotter food than usual for me. Just got done having homemade shrimp/okra gumbo spiced with habanero. I may hit a Korean restaurant tomorrow.

I have defective sinuses. I've been that way my entire life, and when the weather changes, I end up feeling as though I'm coming down with some sort of cold or flu, even though I'm not. The weird, weird thing about this is that I discovered some years back that if I coat my lower back with some form of counter-irritant (usually capsaicin, but Tiger Balm and Absorbine horse liniment work just as well) then I feel good again, usually within 30 minutes or so. It even works to some degree when I'm really ill.
