Well, what an ignominious end to our World Cup showing. Beaten by Ghana :P And for all the bitching that's going on over the penalty kick, they really did outplay us. They certainly deserved to advance more than our guys

I think we should shoot it down. It would certainly take the wind out of Kim Il's sails for a while. Though if we missed he would certainly crow about a great victory but I think it's worth it. They will bluster and whine but they will certainly be taken down a peg or two when it happens.

You know that attacking the missile while it is on the launch pad will simply be taken as an act of war by North Korea. While they may only have that missile that can (theoretically) hit the US, they have other missiles that can reach South Korea, China and Japan, not to mention the fact that (unlike Saddam) they do have nuclear capability. Kim Jong-Il is unstable enough as it is already. An attack like that could spark a war (albeit a short one) that could potentially cost millions of lives. Perhaps GWB doesn't care, because those losses won't be Americans. Why is it always 'shoot first, ask questions later'?

Noone knows if this missile would even work anyway. I do have to wonder if this missile is just being used as bait by North Korea. Perhaps they are just looking for an excuse to start war. Why give it to them?

Actually, they may not even have nuclear weapons at all. They've claimed to have them, but have never demonstrated them. Even if they do, they almost certainly don't have anything that can be delivered by missiles. That's one of the reasons I can't see making such a fuss over them

Iran's tricky. The people for the most part are about the most pro-US in all the middle east. To the point of being genuinely pro-US, without the qualifier "in the middle east." Our enemy is a small cadre of kooky religious dictators who happen to have control of the Iranian government now, and it seems a shame to bomb millions of likely allies just to get the ones we want.

Most of ther enemy in any war are perfectly decent people that you could be friends with under other circumstances.
