A moment forgotten
Somedays she comes home...and feels so alone
And other days she feels like strangling someone
Because somedays he's getting on her nerves
and others he never calls
Then today the phone rings...
she picks up...one of her best friends on the line
He says "hey i'm in town today....what are u up to tonight?"
So he swings by and picks her up
and they let the top down
they drive until they feel like stopping
at the swings in the middle of town
and she sits there and swings
and he pushes her up so high
and then that streak of red flys by....
And she realizes....
that for a moment she forgot
who she really was
forgot about the lies
and the tears that hurt too much
she had pushed away the truth
and looked to the stars above
for a moment....
she'd forgotten....
about being in love
Well they head off to get a bite to eat
at the local mall
they make their way through the line
and order their food
she knows she's running out of time
the night is ending too soon
she gets her food and sits down
but she can't believe her eyes....
because he just walked by....
and she says to herself....
for a moment i forgot

forgot about the lies
and the tears that hurt too much
i pushed away the truth
and looked to the stars above
and for a moment.....
i forgot....

and on the ride back to the house
they talk and laugh so much
about the memories in their past
he pulls up in the drive
and hugs her goodbye
she gets out and walks inside
straight into her room
she stands there and remembers....
the one she had tried to forget about....
she calls him and he doesn't answer
she sits and thinks it out.....
about how long it will be....
until another moment when she can forget
about who she really is
about all the lies

when she can push away the truth
and look to the stars above
