here's my 1st semester synopsis as reuqested by bryan "miami" lopez... lol... i guess we just all lack time so much that this is our only means of communication and story telling? depressing!

sooooo

my 1st semester of college has been....interesting to say the least.
i commute and so my 30 min-40 min. everyday at 6:40 in the am are wells pent. i get my peace of mind and have become addicted to talk radio a la y-100.

my classes have been challenging yet doable. i learned that if you don't read, you'll pull a B on a test but reading every chapter gets you an A. damn i wish i had learned that in high school...yeah right. i only have 2 finals to take woooo and i'm managing 3 a's and 3 b's i believe...not bad.

i am part of acs (association of commuter students)... (make fun all you want!!) and basically we have our central student university center. in the 2nd floor is a huge lounge with like 30+ couches. all along the edge of this huge square lounge are offices and one is for acs. we have a computer, a tv, a couch, a table, and cubbies and basically it's where the commuters go when they're not in class cuz we're not cool kids with dorms. lol. most of the time, people are so into talking and eating crap that class gets skipped, we watch movies, go eat lunch together, spend lots of time on laptops, and sleeeeeeep. i see jorge and nick a. everyday and we ahng out in acs together. i also met a few people who were seniors at sunset when we were freshmen so it's cool. overall, i feel like i belong somewhere again. it's always nice to have a group, you know? now i must seek my dance team calling in life...

i am also on staff for great start 2007...great start is a summer sleepover weekend for incoming freshmen commuters and i did it last year and it was INSANE! now i am on staff!! you know, gotta get involved early on!

football games were actually football games as compared to high school ones. i got to ride the metro (for the 1st time since i was 4!!!) but this time we had to come back at midnite with the random bums and late nite train-getters. kinda weird but stories? oh yes...chinese fire drill (don't ask), pull-ups, weird drunk strangers talking to us, walking like 20+ blocks in downtown late at night. yeaaaaah i'm finally seeing MIAMI not the kendall we all think is miami all along. i got to tailgate before each game and the amount of intoxication was hilarious!! esp. watching cops drag ppl away for being minors. my oh my. thenw e always sit in the front row of the student section rite behind the band and don't sit (our seats got knocked out somewhere thru orange bowl history) so we have no choice...well we do but it's a tradition that acs sits there and everyone knows it. i aactually cheer at football games now! and i'm starting to understand the game. too bad our team isn't too good this year.

homecoming was also a big shocker. it was a HUGE deal. i was part of o-cheer (organized cheer) competing for acs and we did a wizard of oz re-enactment...lol hilarious. we won best costumes atleast! (pics on facebook). but there was float building, king and queen competition/pageant, alma mater singing competition, spirit tree, and a free damian marley concert right on the grass!!

all in all, i really like UM. i am currently a psych major (but i got no psych classes next semester...being a freshmen sucks!!!) and i am gonna try to put in a double major in special education. go me! oh and add in study abroad in spain somewhere in there.

i finish classes next friday dec. 1 and then only hafta go dec. 6 and dec. 13 for a final.

let me know when everyone is here!! i've got til jan. 16 to chill and catch up!!

happy now, bryan? lmao. happy thanksgiving everyone!!
