So, just for background: I like this fic. I can't read most of the middle since sad :( but I like this fic. A lot. So I was quite excited to see that you'd posted podfic of it, in the mildly excited way you get when someone posts a podfic of a story you liked, by an author you liked, by a podficcer who you know already is going to rock because all their previous work has been really good.

That said...OH MY GOD.

Seriously, I have been flailing over this fic for WEEKS. I have used it as my example of How To Get People Into Podfic. I have repeatedly pounced at people--people not even in bandom, or podfic--at fannish gettogethers to try and get them to listen. I have listened to it REPEATEDLY...and burst into delighted giggles every time, even when I know what's coming. I have even listened to the dreaded middle section where Frank's heart breaks omg you break my heart too and you do it so GOOD. [flails some more]

I have actualfax even MADE people listen to the entire thing (they liked it :D). I now say to people "you punched me in my perfect eyebrows!" randomly, and "I will YELL AT PUPPIES and EGG CARS and STEAL BEER" in your awesome awesome accent which just makes this entire fic that much more excellent.

The thing I constantly say to people is that I'm just so impressed at how you threw yourself into this. Notfic is one of those things where it can smell fear, and the moment you quake at trying to pronounce something like @__; you're doomed, and it sounds forced and phony. But not this. This sounded like it came yanked straight out of the head of the author. You never hesitated, never sounded self-conscious, never seemed to bat an eye at the weirdest emoticon or the most over-the-top dialogue and ~EXPOSITION. The whole fic, you threw yourself bodily into the chasm...and made it to the other side. And it's just so impressive to think about how hard it must have been to record, and how effortless you make it sound.

Lines that I'd never really loved that much in the original fic are not firmly fixed into my own personal vocabulary (perfect eyebrows!) and a character who I always saw as just basically Frank except possibly more wicked (and I just heard that in your voice) became fully realized and !EVIL! and the way you read his voice is utterly hilarious. Gerard's alternating confusion and joy and hearteyes and annoyance and THE FUCK!? are perfect. Frank's gasping choking moan after he breaks out of the amp case (he's in an AMP CASE! frank knows he is sensitive to comments about how he is small enough to fit in an AMP CASE, omg I just wrote that from memory from listening to this 2315748524 times) and Frank's quiet misery listening to his phone not beep and Frank's mumblegrumble to Gerard at the end, that is also perfect.

This podfic, in other words, is amazing and I loved it a whole fucking lot and yes. :DDD You can do more like that absolutely any time you want.

Sorry I took so long to reply, but I've been dancing with happiness ever since I first read your comment. Just. I still read it when I've had a bad day.

Thank you so much for this awesome feedback. I have used it as my example of How To Get People Into Podfic. That's the best compliment ever! \o/

Oh my god, I love so much that you say lines from my podfic in everyday conversation! Seriously, that makes me smile every time I read that line. Hee.

And you can quote it just like that! I never thought my podfic would have this much of an effect on someone that it's sort of part of their life at the moment, you know? It's just the most incredible thing.

Aaaaaaaah thank you, thank you, thank you! I truly appreciate your feedback, it's completely amazing and I'm totally going to save it somewhere so I can keep rereading it. I can't even make a dignified response. Just. <3 <3 <3 \o/
