theres something about a clear night
you know the kind when you ignore everything your mother told you
and close your eyes and stick your head out the window when you are driving
just to feel the rush from the wind
the kind of night where you feel like you could lie on your back forever
and never run out of new stars to find
theres something about pajamas pants and goose down comforters
and the way they soothe your body when its tired
sometimes its the moon on the lake outside my bedroom window
just the way it seems to light up my whole room
sometimes its right after school right in the middle of the afternoon
and there isnt a cloud in the sky. and every shade of blue is filling up the air.
its the sound of the ocean and the way sand feels between my toes.
its the way the salt water smells and the sun plays hide and seek in the clouds.
the way little kids can jump on a bed and roll on top of the pillows and just giggle for hours.
because they dont let this world bring them down. they are just so happy to be alive.
litte things that make me smile. little peeks into heaven.
and God just reminds me how fast this life is going to go.
and how soon Heaven will be here.
and I just can't wait : )
