New Beginnings

Okay so I just watched Julie and Julia today and it made me decide to start blogging again. It also made me want to start cooking again and trying new things haha.

So since I've last logged on there's been a lot that has happened. I don't even know when or where to begin. I graduated from school in May and it is so weird that undergrad is over. The last month or so I had so much fun with my friends and we all grew closer if that is possible haha. I started my Masters with a friend and that class is killing me. I waited like 6 months and it's so hard to get back into the swing of school haha. It's a good thing that I'm taking the class with a friend so we can do our homework.

I was a longterm substitute in first grade and fell in love with first grade. I would love to be able to teach first grade but I have no idea where I will be next year. About a month ago I began to teach third grade. At first, I thought that I wouldn't like it too much. Now I love teaching third grade. They are at the age where they want to be your friend and want to hang out with you.

I can't wait until I have a full time classroom year after year so I don't have to worry anymore. It will be nice to move in all of my teacher stuff into my classroom. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this summer I will be able to know where I'll be.

My class does some real funny things and says some funny things that I never would have expected third graders to say. A week or two ago I caught a girl giving a boy a back massage during silent reading. Needless to say, I stopped that immediately. One of my boys was absent for two days in a row. His friend on the third day says to me "if he's not here I know where he is. He's in Germany" Uhm what?!? Why would one of my students be in Germany!?! Haha the friend told me that he goes to Germany because his sister was married there." When the boy came back from Germany, one of the girls asked him if he speaks Germany which cracked me up hahaha.

My girls play school during indoor recess. It is too funny to see the "teacher" act just the way I do and say the same things I do. That may be when I first realized how much I like third grade. It's cool to see someone act like you.

I think that's it for now. I'm going to try and post in this more often.
