Golden Expectations Give Way to New Dreams

Things have been hectic to say the least. Free time is but a fleeting thought and alone time is even more rare. I have way too many things to do and not enough time to do it. I don't care what people say, 14 months is not enough time to plan a wedding to the calibre that Stuart and I want ours. So every moment is taken up with wedding planning, researching, and finding people to help me out. It's ok though because it's totally worth the effort. Things will be perfect.

Oh, for those of you who don't know or haven't figured it out:
I'm getting married!

We have figured a couple of things out though.

Date:
   November 19, 2011

Colors:
   Plum and powder blue

Theme:
Trees sprinkled with a bit of Stuart and I in game (Since that's how we met)

Invitations:
My friend Sam is going to help Stuart and I with the invitations and our monogram (a shovel and a purple light saber crossed). She's an amazing artist and well, I have complete faith in her ability. I'll get to see what she's been working on soon.

Cake:
Alison's little sister Tori has volunteered to help us with our cake. Alison says she's an amazing baker (Chad agreed) and I'll get to try some of her baking on Alison's baby showers. I'm excited though, it means I'll be able to get the desert table and double tiered cake I wanted and made by someone who is talented and who is family.

Cake Topper:
I found an awesome website in which the guy makes hand-crafted wedding toppers. I e-mailed him and asked him if he would be willing to make one for Stuart and I. The cake topper would have him in his tux holding a purple light saber and me to his back in combat boots and a shorter wedding dress holding a shovel. The website owner agreed. My mother is not thrilled, but well it is my wedding after all.

Two top it off, I recently got a job that will actually allow me to have the type of wedding I want. I'm being offered roughly 1,300.00 a week. I'm thrilled to be able to start but I have to wait for a catastrophe to hit so I can begin my test period. I'm thrilled though. It means Stuart and I would begin our new life with the right foot first.

wedding, stuart
