This is a huge day for everyone. Barack Obama was inaugurated. I know that everyone knows this already, but let's actually remember this. As I listened to his speech, I couldn't help but nod my head in agreeance. It's really amazing, not only that he's our first African American President, but that he has had such a large impact on so many people. I know a lot of people don't want to believe in this, but we all need to hope for the best and expect that he won't do us wrong. I have that faith in him, if I didn't..I wouldn't have voted for him. He is wanting to help us..and i'm wanting him to help us. This also shows that racism is fading away. Yes, i'm sure it will always be around but as the years go on and these things happen..it fades. He is right about Iraq, we've been in the wrong place for a while but.."We're willing to extend our hand, if you agree to unclench your fist". His daughters are beautiful and carefree, not fully understanding what's going on. But they will understand and they will look back at this and be amazed. We are turning a page, a new book is you will seperate from these 8 last years. Change is here and we see that the sky is the limit.
I know my country has not perfected itself. At times, we've struggled to keep the promise of liberty and equality for all of our people. We've made our share of mistakes, and there are times when our actions around the world have not lived up to our best intentions.
Barack Obama "Fresh starts, thanks to the calendar, they happen every year - just set your watch to January, our reward for surviving the holiday season is a new year. Bringing on the great tradition of new years resolutions, put your past behind you and start over. It's hard to resist that chance of a new beginning, a chance to put the problems of last year to bed." -Grey's Anatomy
