They couldn't touch. It was something that they were well aware of and took special care to make sure that they didn't touch, not matter how much they truly wanted to.
The first time they were only thirteen and learning the joys that their bodies held. Sitting across from each other, they stroked their own flesh, fondling and caressing heated skin. Eyes locked, they held back needy moans and whimpered groans, not wanting to alert their parents to their dastardly deeds.
Despite the few feet between them, they could imagine it was the other's skins beneath their hands, another body arching into their touch. So similar, nearly identical, they could pretend to break past that barrier and do the forbidden, touch what was so close but so far out of reach. They let fantasy and reality mingle and blend, pushing their passion just that little bit higher until they fell over the edge, softly calling each other's name.
It was their secret sin, the perfect vice and through it all they remembered the Golden Rule. No matter how much they wanted it, they could never touch.
