I am very, very worried.

A friend of mine attends Eton (yes, that Eton). We've been keeping in touch, and he's been relating some very, very alarming things of late.

On Friday, he sent me this:
Signs are going up everywhere in Windsor and Eton saying that the area has come under a "Dispersion Zone" and groups of over three people are liable to be dispersed by the government.

Today, he wrote this:
The area of Eton and Windsor has fallen under a "dispersion zone" and notices have gone up forbidding people from going about in groups of over three. There are armed (as in, guns) police officers patrolling the streets now, and I saw someone getting arrested yesterday for no particularly obvious reason.

I'm a bit frightened, and have no idea what's going on, so bear with me.

Armed officers, patrolling the streets, in the UK? "Dispersion zones?" I've tried to dig up news on this and have found nothing, though I'm willing to believe my Google-fu may not be up to the challenge.

Anyone have any idea what's up with this?
