So, I've pretty much put off updating this thing because, well, nothing journal-worthy has happened. Until about 2 pm today...
It was a normal day at track, besides the fact that 1/4 of the lights were on at the school and it was insanely windy and rainy outside. A power failure around 12- 12:30 shut most of them off. So, we started our warmup in the halls, as usual. After about 2 laps EVERY SINGLE light in TMHS shut off. (Except for the emergency lights which were more like lights to help guide you OUT of the building, and the gym). We finished the warm up, figuring coach obviously doesn't care. As we were sitting in the gym stretching, the fire alarms went off. Everyone just looked at eachother, in SHORTS and T-SHIRTS and then outside, at the "Day After Tomorrow" rain. It was insane. The most insane part, though, was the fact that the entire track team (boys and girls) "escaped" to the tiny shed about the size of my room. Yeah. I think I would have rather been inside with the smoke than in this shed with about 100 people, most of them sick. Then, everyone pretty much got sick of the smell and the claustrophoibic conditions so most ended up outside, in shorts and t-shirts, mind you, because we were supposed to be running inside. Sweet day at Tewksbury Memorial High School. Why is it that any slight problem at this school causes it to light on fire or explode or something. All i can say is, what we've all been joking about these past four years has come true. The school really did light on fire this time. Haha.
School tomorrow? It doesn't hurt to hope. It would be pretty sweet to put finals off for a day. :)
