last semester...

Last night was very awesome. Our youth group went laser tagging and a lot of people showed up. I hung out with Mallory most of the time and we had some pretty interesting talks. It looks like I won't get to go to her birthday party because of a stupid college visit. Oh well, I'll try to work out something for another time so she can still have a fun celebration for the big 1-8! Oh yea, Holly F's b-day is Saturday. Too bad I won't be home then either. What is it with me being away for all of my friends' birthdays?

Today was the beginning of an end for me. Too bad I will never get to experience the whole changing high school classes for a semester, not like that's a huge deal.Oh wait, I kinda did my sophomore year when I changed world history classes and it messed everything up. I digress already. I start night school next week and it's not my idea of spending my Monday and Wednesday evenings for the rest of the year. I'd much rather do indoor colorguard, but I've never done that before so it's not like I know what I'm missing. If I'm correct, there are only 78 days of school left, or 15 weeks. Fortunately I have not yet been hit with senioritis and hopefully it will stay that way. I couldn't be happier that midterms are over. They weren't nearly as stressful as last year and I did surprisingly well on all of them except Econ, but all that matters is that I kept my grade at an A. It saddens me to an extent that I will never see most of my peers ever again after June 1st. But maybe that's a change for the better. I am very much looking forward to the idea of a fresh start in college with new people, new environment, etc.

So today? Well it was pretty fun for a Monday, I must say. We had some "trench" guy for orchestra. Apparently, that's really amusing to Holly. We watched a video about this amazing violin player and we had to write a paper about that can be no less than 2 pages. Wow, this is orchestra, not AP English. But nevertheless, we had a blast talking about our plots for singing telegrams (no, we aren't really doing them but it's fun to think about), Bohemian (C)rhapsody, and loads of other random topics of interest. During homeroom, Holly F. had this seemingly brilliant idea that she, Holly B, I, and 2 others should dress up like the Backstreet Boys in all white, with goatees drawn on our faces. She wants to be playing the violin, while Holly B. and I do rifle routines and then toss them and let them drop to the ground so we can pick up our violins. But what if we dropped our rifles on our violins? Then in econ, we had bookwork. Not too exciting, except Holly didn't have her book and midway through the class, her contact fell out like it always does. I love how she communicates that to me. She'll just call my name and then show me her finger with this curved clear blue piece of plastic on it. How lovely. Then I enter calc, only to see a stem and leaf plot of the midterm grades between the 2 classes. Fortunately our class was in the upper range, but the other class..wow, they didn't do too well. I got a 20/25 (86 with the curve) and I did decent compared to most of my classmates and I did better than everyone in the other class except for one person. Too bad 4th period is 55 minutes of nothing but boredom... That's all I have to say about English. But then stat- I'm a little confused but also amused at the pneumonic devices that Ms. Piccione and Holly come up with. During lunch I found out about interesting news about a social studies teacher.. enough said. Physics and Spanish weren't too eventful, but whatever, it's Monday so what all can happen?

It looks like I'll have straight A's again. That's exciting, considering this is the last marking period that matters for college. I might as well try to do well now when it's not so hard because next year is without a doubt going to be quite an adjustment.

Orchestra tonight! I think this is my last evening rehearsal, unless I work something around night school...
