There's a first time for everything..

Tonight was my first time being at an accident site..

I got off of work at 9 and was heading home. When I got to 23 and schoennher every one started to slow down and I was like what the heck.. so as I got up further I saw that there was a car turned upside down on the opposite lane in the shoulder. As I drove by I saw that there was a guy standing outside talking on his cell phone so I rolled my window down and yelled if they needed any help. All he did was shrug. As my focus turned to the car I saw that someone was trapped inside so I pulled over immediately out of impulse and sat in my car wondering what I should do. There were others on the scene and some were attending the person in the car so I figured that I should not go over and interfer with that. I decided to turn my car off and get out and talk to the person in the car behind me. He too was on his cell phone with EMS and was clueless as to what had happened. I stood there in the rain until EMS arrived, and then ran across the street to talk to the girl that I saw kicking the rocks back in place that had scattered all over the road. She said that she was driving and saw the car flipped on its roof. She said the victim was a man in his 40's. He was conscious and I guess from what she said he pulled himself out of the car. He was complaining of side pain and had a cut on his head. We proceeded to talk about our first aid and CPR training and I helped her kick the rocks back to the curb. I figured that there was not much more that I could do at the scene so I left and made my way home.

So please all of you make sure you pay extra attention to the road and always make sure that you wear your seat belt because I don't want to see anything like that happen to any of you.
