Gossip Girl 2x09

Gossip Girl was good this week, but I have a few comments…

First there’s Jenny… What can I say about Jenny? Let’s see shall we. She’s an idiot, she got what she wanted but at what cost. She should respect her father more, and who gave Lily a right to input on Rufus’ parenting. Look how Serena turned out under her guidance. Serena had to leave her to become a better person. Jenny is gonna regret a lot of her decisions. I was gagging every time she kissed Nate, ewwwwww.

Another person regretting their decisions is Nate. He dated Blair, fell in love with Serena, dated Vanessa, whored himself out to Catherine, and fell for Jenny. And the saddest thing about it is that he has lost every single one of these girls. I thought Blair had it bad, but it seems like everyone always leaves Nate, they always choose someone or something else over him. His parents chose money over him; Serena chose Dan and Blair over him; Blair chose Chuck over him; Chuck chose Blair over him; Dan chose Jenny over him; and Jenny is choosing Vanessa over him.

Now Dan… He’ll probably get the page in the New York Times that he wants, but it’ll cost him. Serena probably won’t be too happy, his father’s disappointed in him, and Chuck will eat him alive. But it is a step up from his moaning about how pathetic his life is and how the UESiders have it made. I also don’t understand why many people are surprised that Dan is acting like douche bag. He was pretty douchey in the books, so it shouldn’t really be a surprise that he’s douchey in the show. Honestly, it makes him more real, so he isn’t the only one in the show with actual morals. Even Vanessa has lost the moral stick. (Whatever that is) Was it just me or did Dan seem like he really wanted to get away from Serena when she cornered him at the party. Maybe it was just me. I’m just glad there were minimal Dan/Serena interactions this week.

Blair and Chuck. Chuck and Blair. They amuse me. It’s like a never ending spiral with these two. They should just be friends with benefits, then they can both get what they want, and I don’t have to feel like gouging my eyes out when they are in a scene together. Geez. It’s like find something else to do that doesn’t have to involve the other. But they can’t seem to do that so they should just do it already.

Serena must have a thing for guys with little fashion sense and dark hair. She keeps falling for guys you would not expect her to fall for. She needs to figure this Aaron guy out, before she starts going to dinner with him and then it becomes another weird, lame romance. Aaron is cute, cute in that ‘I haven’t taken a single shower in a week’ kind of cute.

Vanessa is ehhh… I like Vanessa as a person, but as a fill-in for the other characters, not so much. What the writers need to do is create her own drama, one that does not revolve around the other characters. Think about it, every other major character has their own issues, they have issues with their families, school, something that involves them as the central character. Maybe if Vanessa’s family came into play like in the book, but that couldn’t happen because the Vanessa in the books is very different that the TV Vanessa. i.e. doesn’t go to school with Blair and Serena. Don’t know what part her family could play, but the writers could give something, anything a try.

Emma was pretty interesting, ‘cause her family life is similar to Blair’s. She’s got the parent having the affair like Blair’s dad had an affair, and the mother who doesn’t really seem to care about her, like Eleanor. Glad Blair didn’t just post the pic of the mother or blackmail, like she did with Catherine (before Vanessa ruined everything). She took the higher road and I’m proud of her. Although it would have been more like Blair to blackmail, just shows how much she’s evolving. She wouldn’t want Emma to go through what she went through with her dad. And she got a call from the dean. Yay!! Blair also needs to find a new love interest if she’s not having anything with Chuck, preferable one who isn’t a lying douche bag who sleeps with her best friend or his stepmother, or both.

Oh and before I forget. Did anyone notice how feminine Nate (Chace) looked at the end of the epi. His outfit looked feminine, his walk looked feminine. It hurt my eyes, couldn’t the wardrobe dept find something more macho. I know he’s going through a lot and probably doesn’t care how he looks but come on!

Has anyone see Chace’s new movie, I forget what it’s called, something about a haunting. He basically plays a character like Nate; you know, popular, jock, rich, goes to a prep school. If anyone has comment on how it was. I’m thinking about seeing it, just cause Chace’s in it, but I’d like a better reason.

Well I think that’s all I have to say for now. Next week’s epi looks great. Can’t wait to see Chuck and Dan go at it. (Feel free to interpret that whichever way you want.)
